Towards the overarching theme (The Quest for Social Justice: (Re-)Inventing Society), 8th graders worked diligently with their faculty mentors to research a specific topic of their own choosing. Their finished work was comprised of a written, visual, or performance piece. Topics ran the gamut from tutoring local a child in Math to organizing a team for the New York AIDS Walk to creating an original song to highlight St. Jude's hospital for children with cancer.
