Introduction
The Running Club at The School started in September 2004. The New York Road Runners Foundation (NYRRF), one of the leading not-for-profit providers of physical education programming in New York City, supports The School's Running Club. The NYRRF is an affiliate of the New York Road Runners, which organizes the ING New York City Marathon and is the foremost road running association in the world. The Foundation supports Young Runner programs in over 100 schools and community centers throughout New York City. The objective of the Young Runner program is to enhance each participant's personal development by linking the sport of running to success in school and in life. The Foundation arranges and funds participation in weekend NYRR races for the students and their family members or teachers who run as the student's running partner, extending the program to the entire school community.
