Columbia Families

Columbia Primary Tuition Scholarship (PTS) Information
Columbia-affiliated families must be eligible for the PTS (Primary Tuition Scholarship) benefit in order to be eligible to attend The School. The PTS pays 50% of each year’s tuition for families with one Columbia-affiliated parent, and 100% of each year’s tuition (with the exception of a nominal deposit due at contract signing) for families with two Columbia-affiliated parents.  Families must apply for their PTS benefit according to the guidelines and timetables established by the University and The School, and will otherwise be held responsible for the full tuition.

A PTS benefit is valid for only one year.  Families with students at The School must submit new paperwork for their PTS each year. Any questions about PTS benefits should be directed towards Human Resources at the University.

If a student has been in attendance for at least one full year when his/her Columbia-affiliated parent leaves the University, he/she will not lose his/her place at The School. However, unless there are specific circumstances, (retirement or death after ten years or more of service) a family no longer affiliated with the University will not be eligible for the PTS benefit, nor will it be eligible for additional financial aid from The School at Columbia.
